As part of Principia College’s continuing commitment to sustainability, the ongoing construction of a large solar farm was completed April 11. It’s located on the north side of Beltrees Road, adjacent to the Cross-Country course. The farm occupies 8 acres of Principia’s 2600-acre campus, and the Solar Farm land will be maintained as native prairie. When fully operational, it will supply approximately 28% of the campus’ needs and reduce carbon emissions by 4.5 million pounds annually. The completion ceremony was held on Thursday, April 11 to celebrate this milestone.
